We are determined to put a festival event on in 2020 and also want to celebrate the resurgence in cycling in our communities. So for one year only, we bring you the Anti Social Ride Lichfield free festival of socially distanced cycling.
During the free festival we are encouraging you to make a small donation, if you are able, to 3 local charities, Pathway Project, Lichfield Foodbank and St Giles Hospice.
At your own leisure and in your own time, enjoy three themed rides, replacing our traditional festival rides. First up, in place of the 9 Chimes race around the Cathedral is:
No more, no less than a ride around the Cathedral, but it must be to the sound of the hourly chimes.
Replacing our 7 year old traditional Lichfield Jolly ride is the:
Find your best bike and your dandiest threads and take a ride of up to 5 miles, either by yourself or with other members of your household. Both rides above should be completed between Friday 19th June and Sunday 21st June.
Finally, in place of the Ride Lichfield Sportive, we bring you:
A static or in person anti social ride, this should be completed between the 7th and 21st June. If you register with us we will send you a route plan for either the 60km or 100km routes and a virtual rider briefing. Send us your time and we will record a list of people who did the ride in 2020.
All participants in any ride are entitled to claim a free sticker and badge (limited numbers) by sending us either your time, photos from your ride, tagging us on social media or using the #antisocialridelichfield hashtag or by joining our Anti Social Cycling Club Strava group.
The Ride Lichfield free festival is organised by the volunteers of Lichfield Re:Cycle with support from:

Between the 23rd and 25th June 2017 we hosted the first Ride Lichfield free festival of cycling. Social evenings, a jumble sale, family rides and a sportive, something for the whole cycling spectrum. All completely free to take part in and organised by our volunteers. Some photos below from a great weekend.
